National Geographic Fellow and photographer Chris Rainier is pleased to announce the realize of this new photography monograph, Cultures on the Edge. The book is a collection of over 100 images from this long career photographing traditional cultures around the planet for over 30 years

Cultures on the Edge includes an essay written by noted National Geographic Explorer and ethnobotanist Wade Davis. The Book is a joint publication between the National Geographic Society and the Chinese Photographic Publishing House.

The focus of the book is the visual exploration of traditional cultures living on the edge of change in a modern world. Numerous traditional communities are struggling to maintain and revitalize their cultural traditions and rituals around the planet. Cultures on the Edge documents the rituals, daily lives, and spiritual landscapes of these ancient cultures alive in the 21st century.
