Part of an ongoing series of exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia that aims to position work by individual Australian artists in a broader global dialogue through pairings with international artists. In ‘South of no North’, the work of two photographers, New Zealander Laurence Aberhart and American William Eggleston, was shown alongside that of Australian painter Noel McKenna. The three share a connection through their respective interest in the vernacular, a regional sense of place and a similar visual sensibility, drawing their subject matter from travels, the built environment, and everyday narratives. Includes texts by Glenn Barkley and Noel McKenna.
