Photographs by Eudora Welty.

Photographs by Eudora Welty. Introduction by Reynolds Price.
University Press of Mississippi, Jackson, 1989. 200 pp., 250 duotone illustrations,, 9x10½".

This book brings together in one volume 250 photographs representative of the few thousand Welty took from the 1930s through the 1950s. Welty, a major writer, brings to the photograph the same elements that conveyed her deep compassion and artist's sensibilities in her fiction. Included are Mississippi scenes and people, emblems of folk life, carnival signs, family events, as well as photographs from around the world. The introduction of this book consists of a lengthy interview with Welty, the only one Welty has given solely on the subject of her photographs.
