The Purple Pill is a zine from photographer Christian Filardo compiling three bodies of work from the last decade: Gradient of Happiness, Paradise Engineering, and The Hedonic Treadmill. These projects have historically called on Filardo as not only an artist, but a curator as well, each being comprised of images, both spontaneous and staged, that build upon the ideas of transhumanist philosophical figure David Pearce.
The Purple Pill presents Filardo's images as sequenced by outside eyes for the first time. The Purple Pill is a publication that provides the viewer with almost as many points of departure as points of entry, brimming with imaginative, whimsical images in full color that illustrate just how close human myth and reality can be.
